For her Blind Audition on The Voice Season 14, Miya Bass from Queens, New York sang the Julia Michaels’ song “Issues.” Now Miya is on Team Adam. Is it coincidence that Adam is now teaming up with Michaels to prepare his artists for the Battle Rounds? For her battle, Miya is pitted against Drew Cole, the 25-year-old bartender whose video of him playing guitar to his golden retriever went viral. (Drew performed Marcy Playground’s “Sex and Candy” for his Blind Audition.) Together, Miya and Drew will perform the classic Bob Dylan song “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.”
[Watch Bob Dylan as Alias in Pat Garrett and Billy the Kidd]
Fun fact about the “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”: it was written and sung by Dylan for the soundtrack of the 1973 Sam Peckinpah film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. It was a Western starring James Coburn (as Garrett) and Kris Kristofferson (as Billy the Kid). Dylan appears in the movie, too. He plays Alias, a man in jail where Billy was also staying. Alias stabs a man in the neck with a knife and then watches Billy escape from the county jail. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
