BetterBack is a product that’s designed to help straighten one’s posture while sitting. The company claims that after wearing/using the product for 15 minutes a day, it will help improve the user’s posture and ease back pain. The entrepreneur behind BetterBack, Katherine Krug, pitched her business on Shark Tank in February 2016. She made a deal with the Queen of QVC Lori Greiner — $750k as a loan at 7.5 percent, and once paid back, eight percent equity.

In March 2018, two years after the Shark Tank episode aired, BetterBack launched a Kickstarter campaign for a new product, SuperStraps. When attached to the straps of a backpack, it “instantly relieves shoulder, back and neck tensions caused by your backpack” and it lifts 27 pounds of force off your neck. (It’s a pulley system that hoists the weight in your backpack closer to your spine.) BetterBack exceeded its Kickstarter campaign goal ($18,000) by 400% in the first day. As on March 25, close to $345,000 has been raised. It’s not too late to get an early bird price ($49) on SuperStraps. (Retail price is $75). Expect delivery in October 2018.
