During the 2013-2014 season, Nick Foles was seen as the future of the Philadelphia Eagles, but it didn’t work out as hoped. After being traded to the then St. Louis Rams (where Foles was “disgruntled“) and a stint in Kansas City, Foles returned to Philly to back up starting QB Carson Wentz and now Foles will be forever immortalized for bringing a Super Bowl to the City of Brotherly Love. (Wentz was having an MVP type season when he suffered a season-ending injury in December.)
Foles finished Super Bowl LII completing 28 of 43 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns. Foles also had a receiving touchdown on a wide receiver pass in the second quarter — a 4th down play that will go down as one of the most memorablein Super Bowl history. For his efforts, Foles was named Super Bowl MVP. With Carson Wentz still in position as the Eagles franchise quarterback, Foles is now a hot commodity for teams looking for a franchise quarterback of their own this offseason. Because even after the Super Bowl victory and the Foles MVP win, Eagles coach Doug Pederson said he spoke to Carson Wentz and “I told him that hopefully we’ll be back in this game with him leading the way.”
