Rebecca Rescate is the entrepreneur behind CitiKitty, a toilet training program for indoor cats to eliminate the need for a litter box. It includes a set of rings that fit over a toilet bowl. When the cat is fully trained, you take away the rings. Rescate pitched her business on Shark Tank in May 2011. She went into the Tank seeking an investment of $100,000 in exchange for 15 percent equity. She made a deal with Kevin Harrington of ‘As Seen on TV’ fame — $100k for 20 percent. Harrington helped get CitiKitty into Walgreens for a test period but according to Rescate the partnership didn’t continue.

Seven years later, CitiKitty is still on the market and Rescate has launched three new products including Hoodie Pillow which she helped to pitch on Shark Tank in February 2013. On the show, Robert Herjavec agreed to invest $90,000 for 20 percent although “the deal was never signed.” Rescate’s third product, Blankie Tails, has been a big hit and she sold the company in 2017. Her latest products include Top Down Planner, a $50 goal setting calendar, and Luvsy, a line of princess dress blankets. New episodes of Shark Tank air Sunday at 9pm on ABC.
