In the Fresh off the Boat episode “Big Baby,” Honey (Chelsey Crisp) is excited about taking a parenting class. The expecting parents are to learn all about how to “listen to their babies.” The class is led by muumuu-wearing self-proclaimed baby expert Wilhelmina Page. Honey is torn because her stuffy mother Anne (guest star Cheryl Hines) thinks it’s a bunch of hogwash.
Parenting guru Wilhelmina is portrayed by Niecy Nash. She’s known for her roles on Claws (nail salon owner Desna Simms), Scream Queens (Denise Hemphill), Masters of Sex (Louise), The Soul Man (Lolli Ballentine), The Mindy Project (Dr. Jean Fishman), and Reno 911! (Deputy Rraineesha Williams, see photo below), among others. Nash is also recognized for her roles in a variety of films including Downsizing (Leisureland Salesperson), Selma (Richie Jean Jackson), and Malibu’s Most Wanted (Gladys). Fresh off the Boat airs Tuesdays at 8:30pm on ABC, right after The Middle.
