Child Support is a new game show on ABC where two adult contestants try to answer 10 questions correctly in order to win $200,000. If they get an answer wrong, the have a chance to be saved by a group of kids being asked the same question by comedic actor (and Child Support producer) Ricky Gervais. On the series premiere, Gervais is asked by the kids if he’s married. He says no but mentions that he’s been in a relationship with a woman for 30 years. (They met at college, University College London in 1982.) Of course one of the kids asks the awkward question, “Why don’t you marry her?”
Gervais’ partner is novelist Jane Fallon. The former TV producer has written seven bestselling “chick lit” novels including Skeletons, Getting Rid of Matthew, Got You Back, Foursome, and The Ugly Sister. Fallon’s eighth book, Faking Friends, is out on January 11, 2018. It’s about a woman who plots revenge against her best friend who stole her fiance! Fallon talks about her writing and relationship in the video below. Child Support airs Fridays at 8pm on ABC. P.S. Fred Savage (Kevin of The Wonder Years — who’s been married for 13 years and has 3 kids!) hosts.
