Hyde’s Wingman is a Coast Guard-approved life jacket. It claims to be the world’s thinnest and most versatile inflatable life jacket which means it doesn’t get in the way when doing fun things like surfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and swimming. The two inventors of Wingman, Hyde co-owners Mike Fox and Pat Hughes of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, are pitching their business on Shark Tank on January 21. They’re seeking a $200,000 investment in exchange for 12.5 percent equity. They have the advantage of pitching in front of billionaire Mark Cuban who has invested in a number of watersports-related companies including Tower Paddle Boards and Slyde Handboards, among others.

The Wingman vest includes a “triple bursting zipper”, an over-the-shoulder ripcord, an oral tube for inflation or deflation, and a pack strap for camera mounts and other accessories. The one-size-fits-all Wingman is currently available in black, tangerine, red and camo, and for $169 each. Note: it is designed for adults who weigh more than 90 lbs. According to Wingman’s Instagram account, Wingman “is loved and hated by postal workers” thanks to all the orders being shipped (see below). Sharks love a popular product.
