The 1983 film A Christmas Story has been adapted for a 3-hour televised live performance. The story about a little boy named Ralphie who wants nothing but a BB gun for Christmas remains the same. But some new musical elements have been added to the story. By Santa Claus’s (David Alan Grier) side are the Hohman Indiana carolers. They are portrayed by the boy band PrettyMuch.
[PrettyMuch‘s new single ‘No More‘ features French Montana]
PrettyMuch consists of Austin Porter (20, North Carolina), Nick Mara (20, New Jersey), Edwin Honoret (18, The Bronx), Brandon Arreaga (18, Texas), and Zion Kuwonu (18, Ontario), and was formed by Simon Cowell in 2016. They were working on solo careers with Cowell’s Syco label until The X Factor and America’s Got Talent mastermind Cowell put the five young men together. PrettyMuch sang their debut single “Would You Mind” at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards (see photo above) and sang an a cappella version on the red carpet at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. A Christmas Story Live! begins at 7pm on Sunday, December 17 at 7pm on FOX. [Download A Christmas Story Live! soundtrack.]
