In the Modern Family episode “No Small Feet,” Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) is pleasantly surprised to see the strapping Bo Johnson at his door. Bo is the ex-boyfriend of Cameron’s (Eric Stonestreet) sister Pam (Dana Powell) who has been staying with them. Bo declares that he’s in town to meet his baby boy and “to win back the love of my life, Miss Pam Tucker.”
Bo Johnson is portrayed by James Van Der Beek. He’s known for his roles on What Would Diplo Do? (Diplo), CSI: Cyber (Elijah Mundo), Friends with Better Lives (Will), How I Met Your Mother (Simon), Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 (James Van Der Beek), Mercy (Dr. Joe Briggs), and Dawson’s Creek (Dawson Leery), among others. Fun fact: He’s the voice of Boris Hauntley in the animated series Vampirina. Modern Family airs Wednesdays at 9pm on ABC, right after Speechless, and right before American Housewife.
