The Great American Baking Show is back on ABC for its third season. Similar to BBC’s The Great British Bake Off, the TV competition is judged by two pros at the top of their game — famed New York City pastry chef Johnny Iuzzini and English celebrity chef Paul Hollywood. The two new hosts this season are cookbook author Ayesha Curry (wife of NBA MVP Steph Curry) and former NFL football player Anthony “Spice” Adams.
[Check out Adams on the HBO hit Ballers]
Adam played college football at Penn State before being drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2003. He played the rest of his career with the Chicago Bears, 2007 to 2011. In 2013, the 6-foot, 310 lb. defensive tackle graduated from George Washington University, receiving a Masters in Business Administration. (He officially retired that same year.) The 37-year-old from Detroit is married with four children. Fun fact: This isn’t Adams’ first time on a TV set. He appeared in three episodes of HBO’s Ballers (see link above) last year with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and he’s in the current Sprint holidays commercials (below). The Great Holiday Baking Show airs on Wednesdays at 9pm on ABC.
