Brothers Brian Speciale and Michael Speciale are the entrepreneurs behind The Original Comfy. They describe it as “the blanket that’s a sweatshirt!” The single dads pitch their brand new business on Shark Tank on Sunday, December 3 in front of Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner, Kevin “The Wonderful” O’Leary, Barbara Corcoran, and Robert Herjavec. Yes, Mark Cuban tries one on. Having the episode air just three weeks prior to Christmas is a great sales opportunity for The Original Comfy even after “singing badly in front of millions.” But there is a catch. What they pitch on Shark Tank is a prototype.
The Original Comfy Blanket is now available in three different colors (blue, gray, pink) and available for purchase for $39.99, however their first batch won’t be available until after Christmas. Being the savvy marketers that they are, the Speciale brothers are offering printable certificates that customers can put under the Christmas tree. They expect to ship out the first batch of product early January — plenty of time to snuggle in The Original Comfy Blanket while its still winter. Shark Tank airs Sundays at 9pm on ABC.
