Triple threat Tony Danza (the Who’s the Boss? actor can sing and dance too) has been busy this year. Danza’s starring in the new hulu series There’s…Johnny! (He plays the executive producer of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson), which premieres on Thursday, November 16. (Free Trial of Hulu with Live TV here.) And it’s just been announced that Danza and singer/actor Josh Groban are starring in the father/son dramedy The Good Cop on Netflix from the creator of Monk, Andy Breckman. The Good Cop is a comedic crime procedural, too.
On The Good Cop, Danza and Groban’s characters are both named Tony. Tony Sr. is a disgraced retired NYPD officer who broke the rules; Jr. is a “by-the-book” NYPD officer. P.S. When not on a TV set, Danza is on stage performing his one-man show, Tony Danza: Standards and Stories, a concert that “combines singing, storytelling, a dash of soft shoe, and ukulele playing.”
