In the Married to Medicine episode “Let’s All Throw a Fit-ni,” Dr. Jackie Walters and Dr. Simone Whitmore aren’t the only ones with marriage issues. Quad Webb-Lunceford opens up about her marital struggles and breaks down in tears as she realizes that the marriage she’s in is less than ideal at present. Quad tells Simone, “Me and Dr. G. are just – we’re not at our best right now.” Dr. G. is her husband, psychiatrist Dr. Gregory Lunceford, whom she married in 2012.
Quad goes on to say that she believes she’s taking on responsibility for things that her husband is supposed to do. That includes taking out the trash. “That’s not how I grew up,” Quad says. Simone assesses the marriage like this: “I think part of Quad’s struggle is that she married a man who’s not a team player. Quad says her ideal husband would show her appreciation. Saying it aloud makes Quad break down in tears. Yes, he takes care of the household, pays for the mortgage but when she offers to pay the mortgage “he doesn’t take it” which has Quad wondering, “Is he trying to have something to hold over my head?” Married to Medicine airs Fridays at 8pm on Bravo.
