In the one-hour TV special Michael Jackson’s Halloween, two young people “accidentally” meet at This Place Hotel on Halloween night. Both Vincent (Lucas Till, MacGyver) and Victoria (Kiersey Clemons, Extant) are stuck in jobs they don’t like. They’d rather be pursing music and dance. But at This Place Hotel, music and dancing are prohibited. (Um, “Footloose” anyone?) At least according to Conformity (voiced by Lucy Liu, Elementary), a woman who has two characters working for her to make sure there is no music and dancing. One is Meriwether, a spider in charge of hotel security (spider voiced by Alan Cumming, The Good Wife). The other is a cat scientist named Franklin Stein.
Cat Scientist Franklin Stein is voiced by Diedrich Bader. Bader is known for his roles on American Housewife (husband Greg Otto), Veep (Bill Ericsson), The Exes (Paul), Save Me (Elliot Tompkins), and The Drew Carey Show (Oswald Lee Harvey), among others. No surprise to anyone watching Michael Jackson’s Halloween, Bader is also a prolific voice actor (Oscar in Ice Age, Albert DuBois on Phineas and Ferb), and has had memorable roles in films including Office Space (neighbor Lawrence) and Napoleon Dynamite (dojo owner Rex).
