The Lifetime movie Flint shines the light on four real-life women (mothers-turned-activists) in Flint, Michigan during the city’s water crisis. Together they fight to expose the wrongdoing and to stop residents from unknowingly drinking and using lead-contaminated water. As President Obama said later, “This was a man-made disaster. This was preventable.” The four women are portrayed by Betsy Brandt (Life in Pieces), Jill Scott, Queen Latifah, and Marin Ireland (Sneaky Pete). LeeAnne Walters (Brandt) reached out to Virginia Tech college engineering professor Marc Edwards for his expertise and help. Ten years prior, Edwards exposed lead contamination in D.C. water and the CDC admitted “they weren’t being honest about the extent of the damage the lead had on children.”
In the Lifetime movie Flint, Professor Edwards is portrayed by Rob Morrow. Morrow is known for his roles on Designated Survivor (Abe Leonard), Billions (Adam DeGiulio), American Crime Story (Barry Scheck), Entourage (Ari’s attorney Jim), Numb3rs (Don Eppes), and Northern Exposure (Dr. Joel Fleischman), among others. Morrow — in a role that may have prepared him well for his role in Flint — is also recognized for his starring role as D.C. investigative attorney Dick Goodwin in the brilliant Robert Redford film Quiz Show. Flint premieres on Lifetime on Saturday, October 28 at 8pm.
