On the October 22 episode of The Toy Box, seven toys will be presented in front of the kid judges including Playout: The Game of Fitness. (Other toys included in this episode are Flexxball, Mine Games, Fidget Flow Toy, Technochic, Pillow Fight Pads.) With the four tough kid judges looking on to appraise, Toy inventor Eddie Kovel from Atlanta, Georgia — who wears a colorful outfit including a pair of argyle shorts — will demonstrate how to play the multiplayer exercise card game. How will Playout’s future play out in front of kid judges who usually don’t show a lot of patience during demonstrations? Playout has a sneaky advantage in that, unlike most card games, it’s not just a mental exercise. Despite its playing cards nature, which links the game to a long history of sedentary games played at tables, Playout is definitely not that. It’s about real exercise, not just mental exercise.
[Playout is on sale at Amazon – full body fitness, 10 minutes]
One Playout deck includes 30 Bodyweight Exercise Cards; 10 stretches; 6 WildCard challenges; and 6 MiniGame competitions – where players can compete for points. Designed for kids 8 and up, Playout: The Game of Fitness sells for $19.99 on the company website, where you can also buy those argyle shorts for $29.99. The Toy Box airs Sundays at 7pm on ABC.
