Brazi Bites is a line of cheese bread snacks inspired by the traditional Brazilian treat Pão de Queijo. Brazilian-born Junea Rocha of Portland, Oregon started making her own and selling the tasty, gluten free, sugar free Brazi Bites in the United States. When she got a big order from Costco, she needed money to fulfill such big orders so she and her husband and business partner Cameron MacMullin pitched Brazi Bites on Shark Tank in November 2015. They made a deal with Lori Greiner — the Shark who also invested in the frozen snack Bantam Bagels. Greiner invested $200,000 in exchange for 16.5 percent equity in Brazi Bites. After Shark Tank and the Lori Greiner investment, Brazi Bites fulfilled its big orders with Costco and other retailers. Then in October 2017 — two years after their Shark Tank episode first aired — Brazi Bites announced a giant partnership with Target, one of the nation’s premiere retailers.
[Brazi Bites are sold on Amazon too]
Now 222 Target stores across the country have added Brazi Bites to their frozen sections. It’s a big order for the company, which is one of the great Shark Tank success stories. If all goes well, more Target stores will carry the treat which is available in 3 flavors: Cheddar & Parmesan; Garlic Asiago; and 3 Cheese Pizza. Shark Tank airs Sundays at 9pm on ABC.
