Robbie Cabral of Los Angeles, California is the inventor of BenjiLock, a padlock that uses fingerprint technology to open the lock. He’s pitching his business on Shark Tank on October 15. It won’t be the first time Cabral’s patented technology is presented in front of millionaire celebrity reality stars. In May, Cabral announced that his BenjiLock technology was nominated for The National Medal of Technology and Innovation (NMTI) by the US Patent Technology Office. The honor for technological achievement is bestowed by the President of the United States at the White House. (The most recent Laureates were announced by the White House in December 2015.) BenjiLock is described as “the world’s first traditional rechargeable padlock with fingerprint technology” but it isn’t available yet for purchase on company website.
