Controlled Chaos is a line of hair care products designed specifically for curly hair. Hair salon owner Alanna York is the entrepreneur behind Controlled Chaos. With her business partner Erica Gray, they pitched their business on Shark Tank in 2016. They went into the Tank seeking $50,000 in exchange for 20 percent equity. Instead, they left the Tank with an offer from Lori Greiner — $60,000 in exchange for 50 percent.
After Shark Tank, just as Greiner promised on the show, Controlled Chaos got a makeover. The bottles and the website were redesigned. York said Shark Tank was “a somewhat torturous process” but it “saved my company and was totally worth it.” Shark Tank returns for Season 10 on Sunday, October 1 at 9pm on ABC.
