In the 2014 Bar Rescue episode “Taxed Out in Texas,” Jon Taffer visits Bryant’s Ice House, a struggling biker bar in Katy, Texas. The owner Jeff Simon, a former tax accountant, bought the bar in 2012 for $1.1 million, which included a food cart outside the bar. Simon had a hard time controlling his wild staff, among other things. Taffer helped to renovate and rebrand Bryant’s Ice House as The Wildcatter Saloon, a nod to the area’s legendary oil industry.

The Bar Rescue episode is re-airing on Sunday, September 3, just days after Hurricane Harvey devastated Houston and surrounding towns including Katy which is just 29 miles west of Houston. On August 30, the Wildcatter announced via social media that it was reopening after the hurricane. See video below. New owner Justin Alan Whitfield said: “For as much damage as this hurricane caused, we got out pretty good. Well, not bad anyway.” That said, Whitfield is urging friends/followers to ask Bar Rescue and Jon Taffer “to come rescue the wildcatter again.” Spike TV airs Bar Rescue re-runs on Sundays.
