Cleveland welcomes three new faces (Derrick Rose, Dwyane Wade, Isaiah Thomas) that NBA fans have seen in All-Star games, while the Boston Celtics (Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward) and the OKC Thunder (Carmelo Anthony, Paul George)say hello to two each. The Houston Rockets figured to have some new All-Stars, too, but the one they did get — former Clippers point guard Chris Paul — may be just as big as some of the other acquisitions since Paul is in his prime and seems to be just what James Harden needs.
Here’s a list of familiar faces and names who’ll be wearing new uniforms this season. The Thunder posted a pic of Carmelo Anthony, Paul George and Russell Westbrook (see below) noting “20 All-Star games & 5 gold medals” between them. Of the new players who bring NBA championship pedigree to their new teams the list is much smaller: Dwyane Wade and Kyrie Irving.
- Dwyane Wade (Cleveland)
- Derrick Rose (Cleveland)
- Chris Paul (Houston)
- Carmelo Anthony (Oklahoma City)
- Isaiah Thomas (Cleveland)
- Kyrie Irving (Boston)
- Jimmy Butler (Minnesota)
- Paul George (Oklahoma City)
- Gordon Hayward (Boston)
- Paul Millsap (Denver)
- Dwight Howard (Charlotte)
