On Real Housewives of Dallas, D’Andra Simmons sits down with her mother Dee Simmons, the founder of the nutritional supplement company Ultimate Living. D’Andra explains that her mother called her back to Dallas in 2004 to work for the company. At that time, D’Andra says she had “just been offered a position at the Department of Energy as Deputy Assistant Secretary. But her mother told her ‘This is the only opportunity you’re going to have to own your own company.’ Now D’Andra says, “That’s where I made my big mistake.”

On Real Housewives of Dallas, they argue about marketing Ultimate Living products. D’Andra says the company has never had a marketing budget and does little on social media. D’Andra wants to rebrand and modernize the company, make new products including cosmetics and then market them. “Sometimes you have to spend money to make money,” D’Andra tells her mother. “You understand the back end of the business,” says Dee, adding: “What you don’t understand is the financial end of the business.” D’Andrea says “I think I do but you never let me do that.” Real Housewives of Dallas airs Mondays at 10pm on Bravo, right after Real Housewives of Orange County.
