Eric Zimmermann and Dan Ferrera of New York are the two entrepreneurs behind Trongs, a patented utensil designed to keep one’s fingers clean while eating finger food. The product’s tagline is “Get the fork outta here!” The idea came about when the two friends were eating wings and ribs and Dan’s phone rang and he couldn’t wipe his hands clean in time to receive the call. A 2-pack of Trongs sells for $9.99 on the Trongs website.
On July 9, Zimmermann and Ferrera are pitching Trongs on Steve Harvey’s Funderdome. They’re up against Dawn Janowitz of Chuluota, Florida who’s invented Chomp!, a kid’s plate that transforms into a food storage container. Steve Harvey’s Funderdome airs Sundays at 9pm on ABC, right after Celebrity Family Feud.
