The NBA Summer League has seen a couple of different Lonzo Ball performances — an electric debut with the crowd’s anticipation feverish saw Ball miss nearly everything he threw at the hoop. But as the Summer League continued, Ball delivered an emphatic 36 points.

Ball added 11 assists and eight boards to lead the Lakers to a 103-102 win over the 76ers. A guy named LeBron James was in the crowd and he noticed that Ball not only did a pretty good Magic Johnson impression, but that the rising star did it in purple Nikes. (Ball has launched his own shoe line, so far eschewing offers from established brands like Nike and Under Armour, but this may be a sign he can be persuaded.) James had a message for Ball and those who also noticed. You may have heard the phrase before: “Just. Do. It.” Is that a message for Ball to join LeBron as a Nike ambassador? James has a deal with the Oregon company that’s worth more than the GNP of certain small nations.
