Not everyone on American Ninja Warrior grew up thinking ‘I want to be a professional obstacle course athlete when I grow up’. Competitor Brian Wilczewski, who advanced at the ANW Los Angeles City Qualifiers to the L.A. Finals, first studied mechanical engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute before opening his Ninja Warrior gym, Movement Lab in New Jersey.
Engineering is something he has in common with Jennifer Shields, who (according to Brian’s Facebook page) Brian is in a relationship with. Shields is an engineer at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems. Before that, she was a test engineer at Elon Musk’s SpaceX. She graduated from Rensselaer too where she was a rock wall leader for the Rensselaer Outing Club. Sounds like love at first sight. American Ninja Warrior airs Mondays at 8pm on NBC.
