For a preview of Game 1 of the NBA Finals you could look at the boxscore of the January 16 Warriors-Cavaliers game at Oracle Arena, a 126-91 Warriors win. Then the Warriors starters took ten more shots than the Cavaliers starters — and made all ten, going 30-of-66. Sure the starters numbers (Cavs 20-of-56) were skewed on the Cavs side by Kevin Love’s scant 17 minutes and 1-of-6 shooting, but the result was similar all around. In January, LeBron James had 20 points — almost a quarter of his team’s total.
In Game 1 , James scored 28 points, nearly a third of his team’s total as the Cavs were crushed 113-91. James added 15 rebounds and this time Kevin Love grabbed 21 rebounds and scored 15 points, missing some shots he usually makes. But the entire Cavaliers bench scored 21 points, with both Deron Williams and Kyle Korver going scoreless in a combined 37 minutes of action. In January Korver had 11 points in 27 minutes and Williams wasn’t on the team.
