Rito Lopez Jr. aka “RJ” is the 11-year-old hoop dancer performing on the Season 2 finale episode of Little Big Shots. Native American Hoop Dances feature solo dancers who move (usually with small steps) with many hoops. Hoop dance is considered by many tribes as the “show dance” or “entertaining dance.”

At the age of 6, RJ won first place in the Youth Division at 2013 Hoop Dance Championship hosted by The Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona. The Heard Museum is “dedicated to the sensitive and accurate portrayal of Native arts and cultures.” Little Big Shots airs Wednesdays at 8pm on NBC.
