Kickstarter can’t change its name to Kick-Keep-Going, but that’s how it wants to represent its business — it isn’t all about starter. The famous site where crowdfunding helps entrepreneurs launch everything from cookies to movies to rockets can do more than just get an idea started. It can be a place where successful business and labors of love come to get further rounds of financing, just the way Angel Investing leads to Series A and so on in Venture Capital circles.
Kickstarter Gold is reinvigorating some of what calls “Projects We Love” including Hal Hartley’s Henry Fool trilogy. Another beauty is the undersea dream ride BIKI: First Bionic Wireless Underwater Drone — or Robot Fish. As Kickstarter reminds: it’s not a store; it’s a way to bring creative projects to life. And then to life again, now, with Kickstarter Gold. Check out the whole list of Kickstarter Gold projects here. Or you could just go fund the man who wants to make an 8-song album “for cats and their humans.”
