John Carona is the founder and CEO of Associa, a condominium and home owners association (HOA) management company based in Dallas, Texas. He’s decided to go on Undercover Boss as “Charlie Lucas” to get a feel for the business on the ground. On one assignment, he’s told to power-wash the exterior of buildings but as his supervisor says, ‘Charlie’s spending too much time…he’s being too meticulous.” While Charlie gets the hint, that he “has to speed up a little,” he tells the cameras, “This is no easy assignment. You think about the job we expect our technicians to do – it’s very physical.”
Fun fact about Carona: In addition to being a CEO, he served three terms as a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives and six terms as a member of the Texas State Senate. Wonder which job is more exhausting? The power washing or the legislating? Undercover Boss airs Fridays at 8pm on CBS.
