For the annual televised Red Nose charity event in the U.S., nine celebrities have volunteered to compete on American Ninja Warrior, the Red Nose Day edition. Each celebrity has been trained by a real-life American Ninja Warrior before trying to tackle the famous obstacle course. Actress Mena Suvari (American Pie, American Beauty) trained with ANW competitor Natalie Duran who, btw, researches irritable bowels at UCLA.
Suvari posted a photo of the two women together on the American Ninja Warrior set and wrote to Natalie: “I will never forget how when I was crushed by my own fear, you caught my eye and said ‘You can DO this!’ You taught me what real courage means and I’m forever a changed woman from this experience.” American Ninja Warrior Red Nose Day airs May 25 at 8pm on NBC.
