For her Live Top 10 performance on The Voice, Season 12, 15-year-old country singer Brennley Brown sang Martina McBride’s 2007 hit single “Anyway”. Brennley isn’t the first to sing the ballad on The Voice. Just last year, former child star Billy Gilman performed the song for his Top 10 performance, and he went far in the competition. (He was the runner-up; Sundance Head won.)

After Brennley’s performance, Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani both gave Brennley a standing ovation. Her former coach Blake Shelton said, “You made a believer out of me. You’re defying the odds.” Blake says she’ll definitely be in the Top 8. Gwen added that she and Blake “take our work home with us and we’ve been talking about you.” It’s hard to find a song to fit Brennley, Gwen confessed, because she’s just 15. But then Brennley came to her with this song “after about a thousand songs” and it was perfect. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
