Sia’s song “Chandelier” is popular on TV talent shows. Many emerging female singers have done well singing the song but Troy Ramey on The Voice Season 12 brings a whole new sound to the song, and it’s a breath of fresh air during the Knockout Round. Or as Alicia Keys tells him, “You’ve got some balls over there” for picking that song. But it’s up to Gwen Stefani to decide if Troy wins or loses. He’s up against Stephanie Rice who opts for the folksy song “Safe and Sound” by Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars.

Right before the Knockout Round, Troy (who was born in Middlebury, Vermont) was interviewed on a local Vermont radio station, 96.7 YES-FM during which Troy was told, “You realize if you win this thing, you’ll be bigger than Phish in Vermont.” Troy laughed and warned the interviewer to be careful who he says that around. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
