In the Big Little Lies episode ‘Living the Dream’, while Madeline (Reese Witherspoon) organizes a trip to annoy Renata (Laura Dern), and Jane (Shailene Woodley) struggles to help her son complete her family-tree project, Celeste (Nicole Kidman) and her husband Perry (Alexander Skarsgård) go to their first therapy session with Dr. Amanda Reisman, where Celeste reminds Perry that she gave up her career for him.
Dr. Reisman is portrayed by Robin Weigert. She’s known for her roles on American Horror Story (Mama Polk), Damien (Sister Greta), Jessica Jones (Wendy Ross-Hogarth), Chicago P.D. (Voight’s Handler), Sons of Anarchy (Ally Lowen), Deadwood (Calamity Jane), and Angels in America (Mormon Mother), among others. Big Little Lies airs Sundays at 9pm on HBO.
