In the Season 9 premiere of The Middle (the last season!), “Vive La Hecks,” while Sue (Eden Sher) tries to cram all the fun she missed this summer into two days, her brother Axl (Charlie McDermott) returns from his European adventure a different young man. He’s got the man-bun and “chill European outlook” on life to prove it. But will it last?
His father Mike (Neil Flynn), who didn’t want Axl to leave in the first place, wants to cut off that man-bun and push him to get a job. Mom Frankie (Patricia Heaton), encourages her husband to let Axl settle down on his own. The Middle airs Tuesdays at 8pm on ABC.
