Jeremy Lin makes it easy for Brook Lopez. Lin also makes it easy — or makes it look easy — for Jeremy Lin. And the hope is Lin will soon make things easier on the Brooklyn Nets. After the Nets snapped a 16-game losing streak against the Sacramento Kings, Nets big man Lopez said it simply: ”It’s so huge having [Jeremy Lin] out there leading and playmaking. He makes so many things much easier for us.”
Lin only did that playmaking for 19 minutes against Sacramento. But the results were astounding — reminiscent of some of the hugely efficient efforts Lin would author coming off the bench in Charlotte. In those 19 minutes, Lin scored 17 points shooting 50% from the floor, and making 2-of-3 three-pointers. Lin also got to the line — his specialty — making 5-of-6 from the strip for an 83% mark. He managed to dish five assists too in those 19 minutes while committing just one personal foul. The Nets can live — and win — with two turnovers by the still rusty point guard. Nets take on Utah Friday night on NBA League Pass at 9pm ET.
