At the end of the first season finale of My Kitchen Rules, a champion will be crowned. It will either be former NSYNC singer Lance Bass and his mom Diane or standup comedian Andrew Dice Clay and his wife Valerie Silverstein. The final challenge is a brutal one. Each team has to cook four courses for 14 people. When they hear that 8 of the 14 are professional chefs, the celebrity chefs giggle with nervousness. Andrew Dice Clay tells his wife, “Take it easy. Never let them see you sweat.”
[Left: Andrew Dice Clay’s 1989 album “Dice” includes his infamous nursery rhymes. At least he didn’t recite one to Lance Bass‘ mother]
When Lance Bass’s mother Diane is asked if she’s ready for the challenge she says very softly yes. Lance explains that his mother has laryngitis. To which Dice says, “They’re playing possum; it’s strategy.” My Kitchen Rules airs Thursdays at 9pm on FOX.
