Kevin Love scored 39 points as the Cavaliers defeated the surging and serious Wizards early this week. It’s a big game that may cause LeBron James to think that being top-heavy ain’t so bad after all, if the top is really legit heavy. Love is always a trade rumor — he might as well be called Kevin “Trade Rumor” Love. But he isn’t going anywhere, James is saying. Coach Tyronn Lue says the same.
James even called the idea that he was looking for a Love for Carmelo Anthony deal “trash,” according to the Daily News. (James may love Carmelo, but give posse-man Phil Jackson the satisfaction? Nah.) Plus you don’t fix top-heavy by lightening up the top, you do it by fattening up the middle and lower ends. Carmelo Anthony isn’t on that rung.
