Eighty-six women from around the world are competing at the Miss Universe pageant in the Philippines (January 29). One of the highly anticipated segments of the pageant is when the contestants present their National Costumes. Many of the costumes resemble ensembles seen on the runways of Victoria’s Secret fashion shows including Miss USA Deshauna Barber‘s wild superhero bikini and Miss France Iris Mittenaere‘s sexy Moulin Rouge showgirl outfit. One National Costume that would never be found in a Victoria’s Secret catalog is Miss Germany’s.
Miss Germany 2016, Johanna Acs, wears a pretty Cinderella ball gown (hiding her flat tummy and toned long legs). But the dress gets a little lost due to the castle she’s wearing on her head and the pop-up book she’s carrying. The costume is designed to represent the famous German storytellers the Brothers Grimm (Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White). As the former owner of the Miss Universe pageant might say about Miss Germany’s outfit, “Unfair!” But don’t worry too much, Acs gets to show off her amazing body in the traditional swimsuit part of the show (see below). The Miss Universe Pageant, hosted by Steve Harvey, will air Sunday, January 29 at 7pm on FOX. It’s a three-hour event.
