Daryl Stevenett of Salt Lake City, Utah is the entrepreneur behind LifeCaps, a pill substitute for food. When he pitched his business on Shark Tank in 2014, he said he hadn’t eaten in eight days but was still mentally alert thanks to LifeCaps. Stevenett didn’t get a deal but he did get a dressing down from Mark Cuban who referred to Stevenett as a “snake oil salesman” who’s “full of crap.” After the show, Stevenett tweeted: “Anybody know the best way to remove shark teeth from your butt? I’d like to sit down…lol.”

Stevenett’s sense of humor has helped him pivot from selling LifeCaps to focusing on his music career. He’s been playing guitar since he was 12 and according to his website, he has “made his living writing jingles for many radio and TV stations.” Stevenett also performs on cruise ships (where the food, btw, is free).
