Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is always looking for the next best thing — something, you know, insanely great. He’s found it in the new Chevy Bolt EV, which went on sale in California already. The Bolt has won numerous awards, including Motor Trend Car of the Year, and it’s winning converts fast. Only two other electric vehicles boast a 200-plus mile range on a single charge, and Bolt — with 238 miles — is one of them. The other two are Teslas.
The other thing Chevy brings to the electric table is the Bolt’s affordability. Not that the multimillionaire Wozniak needs to be frugal, but with a price tag of around $30K (after incentives), the Bolt appeals to the budget conscious consumer with its sticker price and its refueling costs. That’s insanely great — at least the presenters of awards and the inventor of the Macintosh think so. Woz loves his Bolt, calling it his family’s “main car.” He’s so happy about his Bolt, he even mentions his new ride in little tweets about going to the movies. For all those skeptics who think everything is for sale, there’s no word about whether Wozniak is promoting his Bolt because he’s getting paid for it. But really, with a reputation for honesty and a fortune estimated at $100 million, what could possibly make Wozniak say he loved something if he didn’t? Note: Woz also has a Tesla.
