The Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card is a no fee Visa credit card that gives 5% back on all Amazon purchases. The “no fee” designation is tricky though — since the card is only available to Amazon Prime Members, who pay $99 a year for Prime Membership. If you discount all the other advantages of Prime Membership, the credit card would still pay for itself if you spend $2,000 a year at Amazon. Because 5% of you $2,000 outlay is $100 — or the cost of a Prime Membership.
The Amazon Visa also gives cash back at a 2% rate for purchases at the pump, at restaurants and at pharmacies, plus 1% back on any other purchase. So you could recover the annual membership amount even without spending the full $2,000 a year at Amazon — though services like Amazon’s PrimePantry make reaching the $2,000 limit both practical and easy. The card also tabulates rewards points on purchases.
