The Virginia Tech Hokies face the Clemson Tigers at the ACC Championship on Saturday, December 3 (8pm on ABC). In honor of former Virginia Tech Hokies player and head coach Frank Beamer, senior defensive tackle Woody Baron is wearing Beamer’s #25. Beamer played as a Hokie cornerback from 1966-1968. He coached at Virginia Tech from 1987 until his last game in 2015. After retiring as head coach, Beamer took on the position of special assistant to the athletic director.

Virginia Tech Hokies head coach Justin Fuente said of Baron wearing #25 at the ACC Championship game: “Well-deserved honor for this senior leader – Woody Baron.” Baron was the first Hokie to be named to All-ACC First Team.
