In The Middle episode ‘Trip and Fall’, while Mike Heck (Neil Flynn) takes an embarrassing fall on the job at the quarry which leads to an OSHA investigation, neighbor Rita Glossner (returning guest star Brooke Shields) returns in full force. Rita convinces Frankie Heck (Patricia Heaton) to go on a road trip. Where they go doesn’t really matter. In a sneak peek of the episode, Rita is in the passenger seat using a hand-saw to cut off her house arrest ankle monitor.
The Middle airs Tuesdays at 8pm on ABC.
