On the Code Black episode ‘Hero Complex,’ Drs. Willis (Rob Lowe) and Campbell (Boris Kodjoe) argue over a terminally ill patient, a young woman named Whitney (Jonna Walsh). She’s in the hospital and wants to end her life her own way. After discussing it with Whitney’s mother Geraldine Lithwick, Willis tells Campbell he’s “helping” Whitney.
Whitney’s mother Geraldine is portrayed by Annabeth Gish. She’s known for her roles on Rizzoli & Isles (in the last episodes as Alice Sands), Scandal (Lillian Forrester), The X-Files (Monica Reyes), Pretty Little Liars (Dr. Anne Sullivan), Sons of Anarchy (Lt. Althea Jarry), The Bridge (Charlotte Millwright), Brotherhood (Eileen Caffee), and The West Wing (Elizabeth Bartlet Westin), among others. Gish is also well recognized for her roles in the movies Mystic Pizza with Julia Roberts (Kat), Beautiful Girls (Tracy), and Double Jeopardy (Annie). Code Black airs Wednesdays at 10pm on CBS.
