John Wall has been kicked out of two straight NBA games. The dynamic guard claims he’s not getting the respect he deserves from the referees. Both Wall and backcourt partner Bradley Beal are frustrated by what they perceive as a lack of ref recognition. “We’re all busting our butts and trying to draw fouls and get hit a lot but we don’t get calls,” Beal said.
Wall’s first ejection was for contact with the referee and “inappropriate language and vulgarity.” His second was for a flagrant foul against the Celtics. Wall is demanding respect from the officials — the lack of it fuels his frustration. Interestingly, Wall is averaging 6.3 trips to the line per game this year in just 33.8 minutes per game. Last year Wall averaged only 4.5 free throw attempts in 36.2 minutes per game. Wall’s 6.3 FTA this season is a career-high, albeit taken from a small sample of games. (He got 6.2 FTA in 2012-13.) Bradley Beal’s free throw attempts are also up this year, to 4.1 per game (also a career high) compared with last year’s 3.2.
