Welcome to another exciting rendition of Matty Amsterdam’s Essential Fantasy Insights! We’re once again riding a hot streak, as Mike Gillislee rewarded his owners with over 80 yards on the ground, and a TD to boot. This week, we’re sticking with running backs getting surprise starts, and going with Charcandrick West of the Chiefs. Neither Spencer Ware nor Jamaal Charles will dress this week for KC, and with Nick Foles starting in place of Alex Smith, expect West to get the lion’s share of work for this ground game. He’s done it before on this offense, looking like the real deal every time he’s gotten consistent work, and I’m confident in another big game from him. I’ll call it again: 100 yards and a score for this guy!
As for the other side of the coin, we’ll stay with Kansas City and say I want no part of Jeremy Maclin this week. I’m a big fan of Maclin, and own him in several leagues this year, but I’m not feeling good this week. Backup QB Foles, while competent, is not the starter for a reason. and as I mentioned, I think the Chiefs will focus on their running game. Meanwhile, Maclin has only gotten more than 5 catches in one game this year, has yet to break 80 yards in a game, and only has two TDs. I just don’t see this being the breakout week, and I think you can find better options. Good luck to you all!
