On the Bar Rescue episode ‘Ice, Mice, Baby,’ Jon Taffer goes to San Francisco to visit Fort One. The location is choice (in North Beach, near Fisherman’s Wharf) but the bar is struggling under the ownership of Jason Wanigatunga, who was gifted the bar by his wealthy father. Although Taffer is disgusted by what he discovers behind the bar (a moldy ice machine and mice), he agrees to renovate the place. Being in a touristy part of town, Taffer gives it an Alcatraz theme and renames it The Roc Bar & Nightclub.
To promote the nightclub part of the business, The Roc has introduced “The Diamond Dolls.” They are “VIP Girls” who are scantily clad in black bras, briefs and heels. They don’t conjure up thoughts of Alcatraz — but maybe they are what inmates once dreamed of. Bar Rescue airs Sundays at 10pm on Spike.
