Project Runway: Fashion Startup is a reality show where entrepreneurs pitch their products and businesses in front of four investors in the fashion industry. They are: designer Rebecca Minkoff, Birchbox CEO Katia Beauchamp, Gwynnie Bee CEO Christine Hunsicker, and Hilldun CEO and Chairman of Interluxe Holdings, Gary Wassner.
Hilldun Corp. provides financing and manufacturing to fashion businesses. Wassner has worked with cutting-edge designers including Derek Lam, Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, Nanette Lepore, Vivienne Westwood, Betsey Johnson, and Marc Jacobs, just to drop a few boldface names. Named one of Fashionista’s 50 Most Influential People in Fashion, Wassner is also a member of the CFDA Advisory Board. Somehow Wassner has time to write young adult novels, too. He is the author of the GemQuest series.
Project Runway: Fashion Startup airs Thursdays at 10:30pm on Lifetime, right after Project Runway.
