Welcome to another exciting rendition of Matty Amsterdam’s Essential Fantasy Insights! We missed last week, but we’ll make up for it with a DOUBLE-DIP, giving you one RB and one WR that I’m both looking to use, and looking to stay away from. Starting with the positive, I love Marvin Jones Jr. at wideout. If you haven’t been paying attention, the dude has been a stud in Detroit’s offense, and gets a soft opportunity against the Rams. I think he’s a top-ten guy this week. And for running back, do your best to grab my man Christine Michael while you can. He went later in drafts than he should have, as he only got named the Seattle starter a few days before the season; but he’s been getting better and better, and with Rawls on the shelf, I look for him to explode against Atlanta on the ground.
On the other side, I’m staying far away from Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas if I can. Both are projected as top-20 guys, but tonight on a short-week with QB Trevor Siemian still banged up, I think the Broncos get an early lead on San Diego and ride their running backs as much as possible. As for running backs, I’m fearing a bad game from Eddie Lacy. That ankle isn’t fully healed, the Green Bay passing game is still the main event, and Dallas’s run defense is no joke. I think you can find better options, and I wish you all luck this week!!
