Jeremy Lin scored 21 points in just 17 minutes of play in his Brooklyn Nets debut, as the Nets beat the Pistons 101-94. Lin’s productivity was through the roof, as the point guard took 11 shots and made 7, for a 63.6 field goal percentage. He was almost as good from 3-point range, making 5-of-8.
Lin made both of his free throws in a performance that only lacked a big slate of his signature penetration — though he did get into the lane a few times, looking strong. He would have finished with 23 points, but for a one-handed layup he lost focus on (see below). The Nets won the 4th quarter by 8 points, accounting for the margin of victory.
